Red planet of Peru
A piece of Mars, but you'll find it in the Peruvian mountains. Not only this view of the Red Valley, but also the fact that oxygen is thinner here at 5,000 metres, really evokes an experience from another planet. Quite recently there was a glacier here and when it melted, chemical elements spilled onto the backs of the mountains, giving the whole scenery a colourful glow. To achieve the rough graininess of the mountains, the colour was mixed with silica sand.
The acrylic painting 100×70 cm has a final protective spray. The canvas is stretched on a wooden frame, it is colored also on the side and has a jagged hinge. So all you have to do is hang it on a nail!
